Shannon Cothran joined Weaver Center to tutor children and adults who struggle with attention, organization, or learning differences. Shannon earned her bachelor's degree in English Literature from the University of West Florida in Pensacola, Florida. While in Pensacola, she worked for the university's writing lab as a tutor of grammar and essay writing. She helped students learn rules of grammar, methods of research, and ways to analyze texts and construct thesis statements and papers.
Shannon has edited magazines and books for publishing houses in the Southeast for the past few years. She lives in Lexington with her husband, daughter, and dog, and volunteers her time as a soccer coach for 6- to 8-year-olds.
